At Speedpanel, our principal focus is safety – engineering factory-made spandrel panels as a single pre-insulated unit to be quickly and reliably installed onsite. Specification is simpler, installation is swifter and, ultimately, the buildings we help create can fulfil their architectural visons, taking advantage of our various face finishes, whilst also assuring excellent fire performance.
The development of Speedpanel A2® products grew out of the experience of our parent company, specialist contractors Speedclad, who have a proven track record of delivering large-scale facade projects. Even before the recent changes to the Building Regulations, it had become evident that there was a need for an A2 fire rated spandrel panel that did not compromise on other key requirements such as aesthetics, thermal performance, durability or ease of installation.
An insulated spandrel panel is a composite panel that requires adhesive to bond the materials together. Whilst many manufacturers can achieve an A2 or A1 rating for individual elements of their products, the addition of adhesive makes it difficult to achieve this level of performance for the complete panel. Working in partnership with one of the world’s leading adhesive providers, we were able to develop the Speedpanel suite of aluminium- or glass-faced glazed-in spandrel panels, each independently tested and certified to A2-s1, d0 by WarringtonFire.
The panels are produced here in the UK at Speedpanel’s own production facility in Northallerton, which is currently being expanded, and are idea for both new build and retrofit projects.
